5 methods that will save your money, and might even increase your margin:

 

1. 1. Reduce selling products that take a lot of space but have low price value. Let’s take this empty box, for example- it takes a lot of space inside the container, which means you are    paying high shipping costs for it. Yet, It’s an empty box, so its value isn’t high. This mean- your product cost has increased, yet you cannot sell it at a much higher price, as it is, just a box. You need to focus right now on selling items that are small or big but have more value.
   2. Here is my favourite- Increase the value of your oversized items. Let me explain. Just a moment ago, I said sending large items with low value is not the best thing to do right now.So we can take the same item and increased its value. How? Combine it with another product, create a bundle, which take the same space as without the bundle.

 

Let’s take this empty box, and let’s take these sewing threads, I can combine them and insert the sewing thread into the box. What did I do? I Took an oversized low-value item, increased its value by combining it with another product. Yet, it takes in the container the same space it took before creating this bundle.

3.Optimize your packaging- Make sure to tighten your

packaging as much as possible. In many cases, you are paying for shipping space because of the packaging- big boxes for a small product. Stop what you are doing and examine each one of the packagings of your product. Is it bigger than needed? If the answer is yes, redesign it. It might sound like a lot of work- but it will save you a lot of money.

4.Use ex-factory prices, not Free On Board– Using

FOB quotes is one of the biggest mistakes made by Pro and amateurs. Instead, always ask the factory to quote for the Ex-factory price- More about that on a different video.

5.Consider shipping some of the goods by air. a week ago, I found that in some cases, the price difference between air shipping and sea shipping is only 0.10$. Crazy right? Yes, it is still expensive, but you can deliver the goods faster and make money more quickly.
